My name is Danny Givertz, and I am an integrative psychotherapist in private practice. This website is designed to introduce you to my work and to answer many of the questions you may have as you’re making the complex and important decision about choosing a psychotherapist.
As a therapist for 25 years, my approach integrates evidence-based practices from Western and Eastern theories of healing and transformation. I am a guide, a sounding board, a facilitator, a creative playmate, an arrow, a stone thrown into the water. I hold you holistically --- as an individual psyche, body and spirit with personal, familial and sociocultural narratives --- all mutually impacting and forming the whole of who you are.
I draw from contemporary psychodynamic practice to delve deeply into the unconscious and to repair loving relationships with yourself and others. I use cognitive-behavioral and narrative techniques to support you in gaining control of your negative thoughts and rewriting affirming stories, seeding positive emotions.
While I’m always holding your past as a framework for understanding you, I focus on the present and on transformation into a healthier, playful, spirited version of who you are today. I will guide you to utilize tools that you can employ yourself as medicine between our sessions, with the goal of your becoming your own daily healer.
I help people struggling with:
Communication and Relationships • Life and Career Goals • Stress, Loss, Endings and Beginnings • Depression and Anxiety • Low Self-Esteem • Sexuality Issues • Compulsions and Addictions • Mind-Body Conditions
